The Speaker's job is to be an impartial umpire of debates and ensure the rules are followed; at both tasks Bercow has repeatedly and spectacularly failed. <br /><br />A bear put it best: 'too late to be known as John the first, he's sure to be known as John the worst'. <br /><br />What we need is a general election. But the Remainers are terrified because they know that the electorate, thanks to their antics, is now more determined than ever to leave the EU. <br /><br />Still, the reckoning cannot be put off forever.
