I have consulted both the Advertising Standards Authority and Ofcom websites. Both give oodles of information which seem to me to be designed to discourage complainants and neither, as far as I could see, provided the promised download of a form on which to complain.

The ASA claim that they can't deal with political advisements (that's the remit of Ofcom) but at the same time say that political advertising is not permitted on TV. Thus we have Catch 22 situation. The Brexit ad is cleanly political, but we cant complain about it because political advertising is not allowed, so it can't be political.

Perhaps someone with more time and computer skills could have a go. Yes, Severn Boar, the TPA should relish this one.Peter Wrigleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16481117156930677255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732407426313451205.post-25966104456818190512019-10-01T07:20:21.629+01:002019-10-01T07:20:21.629+01:00I had the same thoughts about the Brexit advertisi...I had the same thoughts about the Brexit advertising campaign, and in a Comment on The Guardian website suggested (somewhat cynically) that it was something the Taxpayers' Alliance should be investigating.Severn Boarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15542769703676984112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732407426313451205.post-80654600760999803982019-10-01T07:19:24.565+01:002019-10-01T07:19:24.565+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.Severn Boarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15542769703676984112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732407426313451205.post-25070841945184844992019-10-01T07:19:12.284+01:002019-10-01T07:19:12.284+01:00And, of course, Russia. And, of course, Russia.Peter Wrigleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16481117156930677255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4732407426313451205.post-6983786456626999672019-09-30T22:04:51.912+01:002019-09-30T22:04:51.912+01:00Yes report it to the ASA and get others to also do...Yes report it to the ASA and get others to also do it.
We might have started the war alone but we would NEVER have won it on our own.
